Leading with growth mindset takes a certain amount of willingness to be vulnerable. Why? Because it means you own your mistakes. This isn’t easy in a society dominated by fixed mindset, which feeds the idea that if you make a mistake then you ARE a mistake. Fixed mindset leads to constantly trying to prove good enough because of a believe that we are born a certain way and cannot change. Thus, everything is an indication of our inherent being. Growth mindset is a belief that you can cultivate qualities. It feeds the idea that mistakes are opportunities because you can always learn to do better. Many current leadership trainings emphasize growth mindset and the term has become a bit of a buzz word but what it look like in a leader?
